Former Derby, West Brom midfilder Barnes set for Houston Dynamo

Houston Dynamo are on the verge of securing the services of Giles Barnes according to club president Chris Canetti.

The 24-year old English attacking midfielder has trained with the club during the early stages of this week and it is likely that a deal will be sorted soon.

"We spent the afternoon with Giles and his agent and would categorize the discussions as being very positive," Canetti told MLSsoccer.com. "We'll talk again later to see if we can finalize an agreement."

Barnes kicked off his career with Derby County in 2005 before being loaned to Fulham in 2009 where he failed to make a senior appearance.

He then joined West Bromwich Albion in 2010 before moving onto Doncaster Rovers the following year but he was released by the latter earlier this summer.
