Former Aberdeen defender in frame for Inverness

Inverness boss Craig Brewster is considering a move for former Dunfermline and Aberdeen defender Richie Byrne. The 27 year old has trained with Caley Thistle this week as Brewster weighs up a January move.

Brewster told the club's official website: "Richie came up for a couple of days to train as he has now finished his short-term contract with Oldham.

"We will wait until nearer the time in January before we decide to pursue anything with him.

"I played with him at Dunfermline and Aberdeen but he has been troubled with injuries over the last year or so.

"He could be an option for us in January if he is available and I like him as a player."
