Forest striker Hwang Ui-jo victim of blackmail plot

Nottingham Forest striker Hwang Ui-jo has learned of a family setback this week.

His sister-in-law was sentenced to three years in prison for posting private and explicit photos of the forward.

Ui-jo appeared to have been blackmailed by the defendant, who threatened him with the release of the photos.

“The content has been widely distributed in and out of South Korea... the nature of her crime is very serious," the court said, per Yonhap news agency in Seoul.

The defendant is said to have admitted to the crime and offered her apologies to the court and Hwang.

There is a suggestion that the sexual encounters in question may have been filmed or photographed illegally, which may lead to trouble for Hwang in the future as well.
