Forest seal free transfer return of old-boy Reid

ChampionshipNottingham Forest have agreed a deal for the return of Andy Reid to the City Ground. The Republic of Ireland international began his career at the City Ground and made over 150 appearances for the club before leaving for Tottenham in January 2005.

The 28-year-old will become new boss Steve McClaren's first signing.

Reid spent the second half of last season at Blackpool but made just five appearances for Ian Holloway's side after arriving from Sunderland.

A statement from Forest said: "Nottingham Forest are delighted to announce they have agreed personal terms with Andy Reid.

"The Republic of Ireland international, who started his career with the Reds, will undergo a medical with a view to signing a two-year contract."
