Southampton striker Sam Gallagher is attracting loan interest from the Championship.

The Nottingham Evening Post says Nottingham Forest are set to battle it out with Middlesbrough for the signature of Southampton striker Gallagher.

The two clubs were previously linked with Blackburn star Jordan Rhodes and now they are competing to sign the Saints youngster on loan for the rest of the season.

Gallagher is behind Graziano Pelle and Shane Long in the striker's pecking order at Saints.
