Nottingham Forest have made a £700,000 offer for Birmingham City midfielder Neil Danns.

Boss Colin Calderwood wants the midfielder, 25, to spearhead their promotion charge.

Forest's offer has been accepted by St Andrew's chief Alex McLeish but Championship sides Crystal Palace and Coventry are also interested.

So Danns will wait before committing himself to a drop into League One with Forest.

The former Colchester man does not have a future at Birmingham and has been told he can leave.
