Forest keen to keep Chelsea youngster Bertrand at the City Ground

Nottingham Forest boss Billy Davies wants to complete a deal to keep on-loan defender Ryan Bertrand at the City Ground. The Chelsea full-back has impressed since arriving on a six-month loan deal in August and Davies hopes to secure the services of the 21-year-old either on an extended loan deal or a permanent move.

"I have made my recommendation over Ryan. There are two options, one is to extend the loan and the other is to buy him," Davies said.

"I have said what I think we should be doing. I don't know if Chelsea would sell him, but we have to look at all our options.

"In any great side you build from the back and you build consistency at the back. That is important for our future moving forward. We will keep asking the questions."
