Forest buzzing over last-minute deal for Arsenal midfielder Ramsey

Nottingham Forest are buzzing over their loan deal for Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey.

Forest boss Billy Davies clinched a loan deal for Arsenal midfielder Ramsey just four minutes before the emergency deadline.

Ramsey, 19, who has not played since breaking his leg in the Gunners' game at Stoke in February, chose Forest ahead of former club Cardiff.

And Davies has revealed Ramsey's Wales international team-mate Gunter's major role in the surprise deal.

He said: "Gunter made one or two phone calls, as you can imagine. You've got to use every ally you have in this game.

"He was very much influential in trying to persuade Aaron to come here. For that we thank him very much.

"We're obviously delighted with the quality of player we've got. Sometimes you take a flyer and ask some questions - you don't expect much but we got good feedback and now we're absolutely delighted.

"It's all a case of timing and everything has to fit into place. Sometimes you've just got to keep your fingers crossed."
