FOOTIE TWEETS: Congratulations for Man Utd, Bayern surprise Barca, Suarez excused by Barton

This week, Manchester United clinched their 20th league title on Monday night and there was plenty of congratulations flying around from all angles.

Borussia Dortmund also surprised all by beating Barcelona 4-0 in the Champions League, shifting the European power towards Germany.

Below are a selection of Tweets incorporating both of those triumphs whilst serial Tweeter Joey Barton was sharing his views on the Luis Suarez biting debate.

Chicharito was having some fun on Twitter, posting a championship-winning photo with goalkeeper David de Gea.

Antonio Valencia got patriotic after the title triumph. Translation (This win is dedicated to my family and especially my Dom and my entire Ecuadorian people).

Former United star keeper Edwin van der Sar also chimed in.

Whilst Nani showed us a celebratory snap from the aftermath.

Marseille midfielder Joey Barton suggests Pep Guardiola could be joining Bayern Munich ahead of a very exciting time for the German giants in the wake of their Champions League semi-final win on Tuesday night.

Whilst ex-Barca ace Gary Lineker feels perhaps Guardiola would be better suited returning to the Nou Camp.

Dietmar Hamann gets in touch with his Bavarian roots, labelling Bayern as a 'world class' side…..(translation Bravo Bayern. One Word: Worldclass)

Norwich City's Bradley Johnson posed the question - Are Barca good enough at home in the return leg?.....

Dutchman Ruud Gullit was also very complimentary of the German champions.

As always, Barton had a little bit more to Tweet about, mainly regarding Liverpool's Luis Suarez and his bite on Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic.

And Juan Mata was revelling in Chelsea's Europa League semi-final first leg win over FC Basel on Thursday night, posing for a picture with teammate Eden Hazard.
