Foden: Man City blew Everton away

Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden was delighted scoring in victory at Everton.

City won 3-1 after Everton held a 1-0 lead.

Foden said: "I thought we played really well in the first half and it seems to have been the same story as previous games. The manager just said to believe in ourselves at half-time because we're a top team.

"In the second half, wow. I think we blew them away with the way they played. I want to praise Everton because I think they've been doing really well recently and are a top side. They make it difficult. I'm really happy with the result. It's a difficult place to come."

On his goal catching out Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, he added: "Maybe because I hit it so quick, I might have caught him by surprise, yeah. I'll have to see it back but I was delighted to see it hit the back of the net.

"I think we needed that first goal to give us momentum. After that, we blew them away and played tremendous football.

"I've had a good run of games. You know how much I like playing in the middle as well. Long may that continue."
