Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is actively working on bringing Raul back to the club.
The former Real captain is still playing his football in the Middle East for Al Sadd and is in talks with MLS officials about a final swansong in the US.
El Confidencial says Perez, who has sought to rebuild his relationship with Raul over the past year, has made contact with the Spaniard to offer him a role on the coaching staff.
All signs are that Raul will eventually pursue his coaching career with Real, having been encouraged seeing Fernando Hierro return to the club this month.
Perez is delighted with the changes in the club's management structure, with Hierro now working alongside head coach Carlo Ancelotti and Zinedine Zidane in charge of the Castilla.
Having Raul also return would be the cherry on the cake for a president still basking in last season's Decima triumph.
