Atletico Madrid are planning an audacious January bid for Flamengo striker Adriano.

El Mundo Deportivo says Atletico sports chief Jesus Garcia Pitarch has held talks with Adriano's minders about a return to Europe.

The former Inter Milan striker has been offered to Pitarch, who is currently in South America to see Uruguay face Argentina in Montevideo. Gilmar Veloz, Adriano's agent, has spoken with Pitarch about the prospect of the striker moving to Spain in January.

AC Milan are also chasing the Brazil international.
