Departing Manchester United striker Michael Owen could be on his way to Southampton - thanks to Twitter. Owen has hinted he would consider a move to Southampton after a cheeky public enquiry by Saints legend Matt Le Tissier.
Owen, 32, is looking for a new club after being told he is no longer wanted at Manchester United, where he spent an injury-ravaged three years.
The news prompted Le Tiss to contact Owen through social network site Twitter with the suggestion "Maybe the warmer south coast should be your next destination mate, better for your muscles."
Owen, who scored 40 goals in 89 England appearances, says he wants to stay in the top flight, and replied to Le Tissier: "Open to offers!!!"
