Fiorentina striker Gilardino ready for AC Milan revenge

Fiorentina striker Alberto Gilardino admits he's seeking revenge over AC Milan this weekend. Gila barked: "I was very sad at how my last year with the Rossoneri ended. I did not receive enough support from the club, nor the Coach.

"In March I had already got the impression they decided I was no longer an important part of the team. When it became clear they didn't believe in me anymore, I realised it was the time to leave."

Now they come face to face again with the Viola ready to snatch that automatic Champions League qualifying spot if they win by two clear goals.

"It would be the icing on the cake to beat Milan and reach the Champions League proper in one fell swoop," grinned Gila.

"It is wonderful to be here fighting for a prestigious target like third place on the final day of the season.

"It would be a dream to win and go straight into the tournament, so I and my teammates will do everything we can to achieve it."
