Fiorentina and Sampdoria are battling for Roma defender Matteo Ferrari.
Coming off contract, Ferrari is wanted at Florence by his former Parma coach Cesare Prandelli, says Corriere della Sera.
However, the defender's ex-Roma teammate, Antonio Cassano, has urged Ferrari to join him at Sampdoria for next season.
