Guangzhou Evergrande star Alessandro Diamanti is closer to returning to Italy.

After a year in China, former Bologna star Diamanti is now ready to return to Europe and Serie A.

Sky Italia says Fiorentina are in talks with Guangzhou Evergrande over a permanent deal for the Italy international.

The Viola are prepared to pay €3 million to bring Diamanti home.

The midfielder has also been linked with Juventus, where coach Massimiliano Allegri is a big fan.
