Italian club Fiorentina believe they have signed a top quality player in Micah Richards.
The 26-year old right-back has joined La Viola on a season-long loan from Manchester City and the Florence clubs technical director Eduardo Macia admitted they were thrilled to made the signing.
"We have been thinking about Richards since the end of January's market," he told reporters.
"We wanted a great right-back. There was a lot of competition for him, but from the first day we spoke with the player, he gave us his word and he kept it."
Richards has joined Fiorentina after falling down the pecking order at City following their summer signing of Bacary Sagna from Arsenal.
