Fiorentina coach Cesare Prandelli didn't field Adrian Mutu for their victory over Palermo yesterday.

Mutu was left on the sidelines as today the deadline for his €17m fine to Chelsea could see him suspended by FIFA.

"Adrian had a slight muscular problem and so we preferred not to risk him on an uneven surface," explained Prandelli.

"The lad was very worried up until a few days ago, but recently he has been more relaxed because he knows he won't be abandoned. He is not alone."
