Fiorentina coach Italiano frustrated after Torino stalemate

Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Italiano admitted frustration after their 0-0 draw with Torino.

Italiano felt they could've done more on the day.

He said: "The regret is that we should've done far more with the extra man, but if Torino focus only on defending, they become very difficult to break down. It is a point, let us try to look on the bright side.

“Unfortunately, this happens when two very similar teams face off, they can neutralise each other and the game becomes ugly. It's our seventh game against Torino and they've pretty much all been like this."

Toro coach Ivan Juric was sent off and later accused of making threats to Italiano as they clashed on the touchline.

Italiano later gatecrashed Juric's post-match press conference to give the Toro coach a hug.

“I didn't see any gesture," said Italiano. "I think he misunderstood my intentions, I was talking to the fourth official, adrenaline can do strange things to you in those situations. It's fine, it is not the first time it happened, we shake hands and carry on.

“Rather than controversy, I want this image to be the one that is shown and that people remember over the next week."
