Fiorentina chief Eduardo Macia is tipped to move to Barcelona.

Marca says Macia will be confirmed as new sports director of Barcelona following the sacking of Andoni Zubizaretta this week.

Macia has been working with Daniele Prade at Fiorentina and his contract runs to the end of this season.

The Spaniard is a former Liverpool scout and is close to Napoli coach Rafa Benitez, having also worked with him at Valencia.

Macia, 40, spent two decades at Valencia CF as player, technical advisor, and as the personal assistant to the club's president, Juan Soler.
