Fiorentina coach Vincenzo Montella played down Stevan Jovetic's furious goal celebrations after scoring in victory over Cagliari.

Jovetic broke his goal drought and celebrated almost angrily by kicking the advertising boards.

"He was decisive today and I was about to substitute him so he could rest, but then he asked to come off due to a niggle in his knee," said Montella.

"I don't know what was behind his reaction to the goal, perhaps it was just taking a weight off his shoulders. I don't think he was angry."
