Luis Figo is happy knowing former Real Madrid teammate Iker Casillas is returning to the club.
After announcing his retirement at Porto, the former Real goalkeeper is set to return to Madrid and take up a front office role. Casillas is expected to work closely with vice-president Jose Angel Sanchez.
Figo told Marca: "It is his home, his natural site. It is a joint decision of the two parties. They talked, they invited him and he accepted. He is happy and I am happy for him because he returns home. Very happy for him."
Figo was also asked about what Real needs to return to the top of European football.
"Luckily I am not the coach. I do not have Zizou's concerns, which are surely many like those of any coach. Surely he is clear about what to do and what he needs, but without forgetting the situation in which we find ourselves.
"He will move the pieces as he sees fit."
