FIGC president Gabriele Gravina has praised Italy's players for their support of injured teammate Leonardo Spinazzola.
The 28-year-old Roma fullback picked up an Achilles tendon injury and could remain out of action for up to six months.
“It was emotionally engaging to enter the dressing room last night and have the feeling we had lost the game because a teammate had suffered a serious injury," Gravina said.
“I will remember that moment for my entire career, there was stony silence. These lads have shared their teammate's pain. That's beautiful and that's what we want to transmit to all the Italians.
“I am sorry for Spinazzola, he was helping the team so much, I wish him a speedy recovery."
