Dutch Eredivise club Feyenoord do not expect John Guidetti to return to them on loan this season.
The Swedish striker scored 20 goals in 23 appearances whilst on loan from Manchester City last term and although they would love him back at De Kuip, technical director Martin van Geel is maintain a realistic outlook.
"At the last moment, anything can happen but we are not assuming the return of John is realistic," said van Geel.
"We do not know what City want - and besides, he needs time to recover from his injury."
