Ciro Ferrara was a relieved man after Sampdoria snapped their losing streak with victory over Genoa.

The Blucerchiati were in dire straits going into the Derby della Lanterna, but a 3-1 victory over local rivals Genoa has seen them get back on track.

"I saw the Sampdoria that started the season," said the under-fire Coach.

"We pressured our opponents for the entire match and that allowed us to bring home a great result.

"These have been two very hard months, because I tried everything I could to bring belief back to these lads. It was impossible to think they had suddenly lost all their certainties."
