Ciro Ferrara says Felipe Melo must reign in his ego to succeed at Juventus. Former Juve coach Ferrara, speaking with Gazzetta dello Sport, was asked about controversial midfield pair Melo and Diego.
On Melo, Ferrara said: "He has qualities, but must learn to be loving to his teammates. He's anything but a bad guy, but the arrogance he has did irritate many, and if someone is nasty to others, it is shown on the field."
On Diego, the former Juve defender added: "He is absolutely required. He's good and trains with commitment. He needs two deep-lying midfielders, because his strength is to launch attacks."
Asked about going from player to coach, Ferrara insisted: "It wasn't a problem for me. I always made decisions with my head, not my heart. Sometimes, the players did not understand ..."
