Juventus coach Ciro Ferrara says the thrashing they copped from Villarreal was just the wake-up call his team needed. Juve were thumped 4-1 by their Spanish opponents and Ferrara remarked: "We were heaped with praise and did well up until now, but this slap in the face will do us good and get our feet back on the ground.
"We will get back to work in a relaxed manner. This is a team at the highest level, regardless of this evening. We are upset, but also convinced we can do well in future."
Former Barcelona defender Martin Caceres was handed his Juve debut in the second-half.
Santi Cazorla, Nilmar and a Robert Pires double were enough for Villarreal to thump Juve, which scored a late consolation through Amauri.
