Ferrara admits Juventus struggled at Bordeaux

Juventus coach Ciro Ferrara admitted some regrets after their 1-1 draw with Champions League opponents Bordeaux.

Vincenzo Iaquinta struck for Juve and Ferrara said afterwards: "I think it was clear we changed at half-time. Bordeaux are very organised, fast on the counter and good at closing up.

"We struggled in midfield and they came back at us very quickly, whereas in the second half we were far more aggressive.

"That helped us to stay further up the field, score the goal and had the game in our grasp. It's a shame that right at that moment we conceded on a set play, which we knew could cause us trouble."

This was the tactician's Champions League debut after a 100 per cent Serie A record from five games, including last season.

"Clearly it was our first game and we wanted to make a good impression. At this level you pay for the tiniest error.

"Of course we have time to catch up, but it is disappointing that we didn't take the chance to win by a matter of inches."
