Manuel Fernandes and Fernando Morientes were both outstanding as Valencia won 2-0 at Real Mallorca last night.

With new coach Ronald Koeman yet to arrive, Oscar Fernandez was given a first three points in his final game as caretaker manager and said afterwards: "I dedicate this game to my wife, Alexis and the players.

"The players were under pressure and gave the right answer - from Timo Hildebrand to Morientes.

"Fernandes was wonderful."
