Rangers captain Barry Ferguson has paid tribute to Walter Smith and his backroom team after they secured Champions League progress this week.

"As soon as the club brought in Walter, Ally McCoist and Kenny McDowall I was always confident they would turn us into a good team, a hard team to beat, and that is what they have done," said Ferguson.

"Hopefully, we get a great group with some big teams," added Ferguson.
