Everton great Duncan Ferguson admitted he was surprised to be honoured on Wednesday night.
The 43-year old Scotsman was a cult hero in three separate playing spells with the Toffees and has since emerged as a promising coach under manager Roberto Martinez.
At Everton's end-of-season awards night, Ferguson was named the Chairman's Blueblood Award winner and he admits he was amazed.
"It's absolutely fantastic. I am still in a bit of shock. I was listening to the chairman's speech and it was very emotional," said Ferguson upon receiving Bill Kenwright's award.
"The chairman has been a fan of this Club since day one. When you have a man like that running the Club, it is great for everyone. He always shows his passion and love for Everton and we love him. He is one of us, the man, and it is very touching to have that man supporting you."
