Ian Ferguson says Robbie Fowler is the perfect fit for North Queensland Fury. The Liverpool legend will be the biggest signing for the A-League since Dwight Yorke at Sydney FC and Ferguson told the Townsville Bulletin: "I don't want a primadonna - I don't want that type of player and I never will.
"I have said this on numerous occasions before he even came here that he is a very humble boy.
"He's probably very proud and privileged and honoured to have achieved what he has and the great thing about Robbie Fowler is his feet are always on the ground.
"It's vital that I try and get the right boys on the park and hopefully to succeed for North Queensland.
"I want team players and Robbie's a team player."
Fowler's response when asked how much of an individual impact he would potentially like to make on the A-League would have been music to Ferguson's ears then.
"Being a professional you want to do as well as you can but, and it's probably cliche, if you're playing in a team and the team's doing well and someone else is scoring goals then I think that is more important than one or two individuals," he said.
"There are 11 players in the team, so as much as there might be one `marquee', the marquee still needs help from the other players as well."
