Ferguson convinced Man Utd getting better

Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson says he's enjoying going to games this season.

Ferguson, who is still involved with the club as a director and regularly watches the games, is enjoying the football this season - especially being away from the dugout.

"I can go and watch the team now without getting so worked up," he told the Big Issue.

"I mean, we lost to City [earlier this month], but we did okay. Lots of great football. If it had been 11-a-side [United had Chris Smalling sent off before half-time], who knows?

"I'm enjoying my football, I'm enjoying my family, my friends and I'm enjoying my retirement.

"I'm an ambassador for United and I'm on the club's board of directors, so I still watch a lot of games, but I do miss the banter of the dressing room; the players, obviously, but also the backroom staff.

"All lovely people - cleaners, cooks, admin people, kit staff. Really decent, honest people. I don't see them as much now as I used to."
