Ferguson content with Man Utd position

Sir Alex Ferguson is happy where his Manchester United side is at the moment even though the critics feel they have not been all that impressive. The Red Devils went three points clear of Manchester City with a 2-1 home win over Stoke City on Tuesday night to stretch their unbeaten run to 20 games this season and putting them in a solid position to take another league title.

Some sections of the media believe that Ferguson's men are just doing enough and not asserting their authority on teams but the Scottish tactician is not buying into that talk.

"We are an easy target for that kind of thing," he said after the match.

"But we just have to dismiss it and concentrate on our ambitions and that is to win the league."

United's goals came from Javier Hernandez and Nani, indicating that Ferguson's job to balance his attack may be a tough one after resting Wayne Rooney, but he feels it is a strong position to be in.

"Of course it gives me a problem when Wayne is fit," he added.

"But that is the kind of problem you want. Over the years, the strikers I have had have always given me that problem.

"That is Chico's (Hernandez) job. And as long as he keeps putting the ball in the net, he is giving me those problems."
