Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has paid tribute to fellow retiree David Beckham. Beckham plays his last senior game this weekend for PSG.

Fergie said: "When he went to America, I didn't think there was a person in this place who thought he could really have a career.

"And yet he still went on to play for his country and played for Milan and PSG in European ties.

"He is an amazing person. I think he has picked the right time.

"He is exactly the same as myself - he's got plenty of things to do with his life. He's a young man and I'd imagine fashion will be his role."
