QPR chief Les Ferdinand admits it's high time their academy started producing results.
Ferdinand cites Richard Langley when discussing their youth system.
"I will tell you why he is important," Ferdinand told the Mirror.
"He was the last player to be a first-team regular who came through the youth system at Rangers.
"The last player - and that was 16 years ago. That cannot be right."
Ferdinand continued: "It is a club that pays loads out in wages.
"QPR was an attraction for players coming to the end of their careers, and they got one more pay day.
"That is not the players' fault but that was what was allowed to happen."
