Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini has withdrawn from the Belgium national team squad ahead of upcoming international friendly matches against Italy and Spain.
Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal revealed the unspecified injury is what prevented the 27-year-old from taking part in United's 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion on Saturday.
Belgium manager Marc Wilmots confirmed Fellaini's absence on Twitter.
.@Fellaini en @J_Lukaku94 zijn out voor #belita & #belspa. Spoedig herstel! @SvenKums & Kevin Mirallas komen bij de selectie.
