Federico Mancuello has announced his departure from Toluca.

The Argentine midfielder is leaving Liga MX to return home and join Velez Sarsfield.

Mancuello arrived at Toluca in 2019 and during the two tournaments played (Clausura and Apertura) he managed 25 Liga MX matches. However, he's decided to cut ties after struggling to find a place in coach José Manuel de la Torre's plans.

His deal with Velez runs to the start of 2021.

Mancuello posted to social media: “Thanks Toluca! - Today I close one more stage in my life, I wanted to thank all the people who shared with me all this time in Mexico, despite the fact that this last time was difficult, we took with us very nice memories and we are very grateful to everyone!

"I leave you the most beautiful moments at the club when they let me play ... A big hug to all."
