FC Dallas defender Zach Loyd added to Klinsmann USA squad

U.S. Men's National Team head coach Jurgen Klinsmann has added FC Dallas defender Zach Loyd to the roster for the match against regional rival Mexico on Aug. 10 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

Loyd replaces fellow defender Timmy Chandler, who is working back to full fitness after suffering an injury setback in advance of the start of the Bundesliga season.

The fifth pick in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft, Loyd has played in 21 games for FC Dallas this season, scoring once and adding two assists for the defending Western Conference Champions. He made his international debut on Jan. 22 against Chile, starting and going 72 minutes in the 1-1 draw.

Mexico has announced a 20-player roster that includes 10 of the starters from their victory in the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup final, including goalscorers Pablo Barrera, Andres Guardado and Giovani dos Santos.
