The 31 year old spent last season on loan at Rangers, but endured a frustrating time in Glasgow after failing to settle in Scotland.
"I have enjoyed my time training at Stoke and everyone has made me feel very welcome," Faye told skysports.com.
"I know some of the lads here already like Salif Diao, Andy Griffin and Vincent Pericard and things have gone well so far.
"I have been impressed by Tony Pulis and the club and I believe they can go on to great things.
"I would like to be a part of that and help the club establish itself in the Premier League.
"I am keen to get back playing in the Premier League and get my career back on track."
