The father of Dynamo Moscow winger Arsen Zakharyan has denied his influence on his son's decision to reject a move to Galatasaray.

The Russia international had hopes of joining Chelsea this season, but financial sanctions against Russia has so far thwarted the move.

Gala have since made an attempt, but their approach was rejected by the youngster.

Amid claims he was behind the decision, father Norayr Zakharyan released the following statement to Sport-Express:

"The allegations that Arsen refused to go to Galatasaray because of my pressure are absurd. Naturally, there is no such situation. This is our joint decision.

"The option of a transfer to the Turkish club was not even considered. Why is this issue constantly on the agenda?

"I don't know what they bring. I want them to leave Arsen alone and let him play football calmly."

He also later said: "This is not real. I repeat once again that Arsen and I are only considering transfer options to Europe."
