Fabian Schar is excited over his move to Newcastle United.

The former Deportivo La Coruna defender joined the Toon this week.

Schar fondly remembers his first outing in front of the Gallowgate and is looking forward to playing in front of the Magpies faithful for the first time.

“It was six years ago, with the national team," he told NUFC TV. “We had a game, it was the Olympics, and we played one game here. The stadium was perfect – I loved it. Now when it's a home stadium, it will be brilliant. I'm really looking forward to the games here.

“The fans are crazy here, ive heard. I really enjoted playing last time, and now with your own fans it must be brilliant."
