The English FA are set to advertise for the U21 post.

The Telegraph says the FA is planning to advertise for Stuart Pearce's successor rather than headhunt for a new manager and it is understood that may mean the role not being filled in time for the August 13 'Auld Enemy' clash at Bramall Lane.

Were that to be the case, the FA would hand the reigns temporarily to someone currently in its coaching structure, such as under-19s boss Noel Blake.
