FA make move for West Brom chief Ashworth THIS WEEK

The FA have decided West Bromwich Albion chief Dan Ashworth must be their new technical director.

It remains to be seen whether Ashworth will be named technical director or take Gareth Southgate's old Head of Elite Development job title, but he will work from the FA's St George's Park, says the Sunday Mirror.

Southgate turned down the technical director job in July and that left Ashworth as the number one choice.

He will be responsible for spotting young talent and developing the training and medical methods of England's future stars.

The FA may let Ashworth see out the transfer window in his role at West Brom before confirming the appointment.
