EXCLUSIVE: Mourinho and Simeone would both ‘die to win’ - Atletico Madrid star Filipe Luis

Filipe Luis admits it is hard to compare his two most recent coaches.

The Brazilian left-back was already with Atletico Madrid when Diego Simeone took over in 2011 before he linked up with Jose Mourinho at Chelsea in the summer of 2014.

30-year-old Filipe spent just one season playing under Mourinho but experienced immediate success with the Portuguese tactician in the form of the 2015 Premier League title (and League Cup), as he did with Simeone by winning La Liga in 2014.

Speaking exclusively with Tribalfootball, Filipe attempted to separate the pair of managers who he feels have distinct differences even if their philosophies do share a consistent theme.

“It is difficult to compare because they are really, really different," he said of his current boss and the new Manchester United manager.

“They have a different style, the training is different, they way they play is different.

“The only thing I could compare with them is that they are both ambitious and they would die to win.

“They want to won every single game, even in pre-season, and I think that makes them winners."

Filipe Luis took some time out of his busy schedule to speak with Tribalfootball while on Atletico's pre-season tour of Melbourne.

The Spanish club take on Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur at the MCG on Friday night in the 2016 International Champions Cup, proudly presented by Audi.
