Atletico Madrid sporting director Jose Luis Perez Caminero says the club is in no hurry to make a decision on Fernando Torres.
The 32-year-old striker has been on loan with Atleti from Italian giants AC Milan since January 2015 but is out of contract with his parent club the Rossoneri this summer.
Atletico have the opportunity to sign the former Liverpool and Chelsea forward on a free in July but Caminero was keeping his cards close to his chest when quizzed on the issue by Tribalfootball.com.
“We are still thinking game by game. We have not made any decisions," Caminero told us exclusively.
“There have been no talks with Fernando since December so I am not sure what his perspective is.
“But as a club, we are taking it game by game.
“We have still got four games to go in La Liga and the Champions League finals so there is still a long way to go this season and at the moment, we are only thinking of that.
“Whatever will be said (about Torres), will be said at the end."
Torres, who kicked off his career with Los Rojiblancos, is a reported target for clubs in China and the Middle East.
Atletico are currently sitting second in La Liga, equal on points with Barcelona but behind on goal difference, with four fixtures remaining. They face German giants Bayern Munich in the Champions League semi-final first leg at the Vicente Calderon on April 27.
Caminero was speaking as Atletico's ambassador at the Melbourne launch of the 2016 International Champions Cup Australia, presented by Audi at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
The Spanish giants will compete in the Australian leg of the worldwide tournament against Italian powerhouse Juventus, Premier League title-chasers Tottenham Hotspur and current A-League champions Melbourne Victory in late July.
