Former Wolves and Sunderland boss Mick McCarthy is being linked with the Bolton Wanderers job.
The Daily Mail says McCarthy has emerged as a leading contender if Bolton decide to axe Owen Coyle.
Saturday's defeat at Millwall left Coyle's side seventh from bottom in the Championship. Afterwards the dejected Scot admitted to his players that it might be time for them to hear 'a new voice'.
Chairman Phil Gartside will weigh up his options during the international break, but he knows that McCarthy would be a popular choice among supporters.
