Craig Beattie has admitted there were plenty of offers for him ahead of his February move to Heart of Midlothian.

The 28-year old former Celtic, West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City striker scored his first goal for the Jambos in their 2-2 Scottish Cup quarter-final draw with St Mirren and afterwards suggested it could have been the Buddies he was playing for instead.

"I had a couple of offers and I had some dialogue with Danny (Lennon) but I think it would be disrespectful to St Mirren and Hearts if I spoke too much about it. All I'll say is there were offers," he revealed.

"We've got to go back to their place so a lot of people would say it's their advantage but I think we've learned a lot from today.

"They dominated and then we tinkered and got on top of them so maybe the advantage is with us because we know how to play against them."
