Former Aston Villa coach Kevin MacDonald is being linked with Sunderland.
Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill is likely to need to find new staff with Keith Bertschin and Stephen Clemence wanted by new Hull City boss Steve Bruce.
The Journal says MacDonald could rejoin O'Neill at Sunderland having worked under him at Villa.
