Former Tottenham Hotspur teenager Calum Butcher is on trial with MLS club Sporting Kansas City.
The 19-year old towering centre-half spent a few years with the Spurs youth academy after starting off with Ipswich Town and Southend United but is now looking to continue his career abroad.
Sporting coach Peter Vermes confirmed that the out-of-contract Butcher was certainly a player worth looking at.
"[He's an] interesting kid," Vermes said. "Great presence and size for the position. The one thing that is interesting is that, going through the Tottenham school of football, he plays out of the back. He's not just lumping the ball forward. He plays. He's good on the ball."
Along with Butcher, Sporting are also having a look at 22-year old HB Koge winger Adda Djeziri who has previously spent time Vejle BK in Denmark and Brazilian defender Julio CesarSantos.
